Focus Networks is the brainchild of two driven men; Ian Bloomfield and Andy Frost, both with a love of IT.

Ian’s interest in IT soon became linked with education.  His wife is a teacher and Ian began helping out schools with IT issues.

Andy is a self-confessed geek who has a need to know how a given thing works.  His passion is computers and his background is corporate business, working worldwide on government contracts and the like.  In addition he is a firm believer in life-long learning.

When the pair met they bonded over their interest in all aspects of IT and they set up Focus Networks in 2008, initially working with small to medium sized businesses.  It is a measure of their ability and level of service that they still work with some of their clients from those early days.

It was two years before they felt able to take on a first employee.  Others soon followed as the business grew and the team currently numbers 14.

The focus of the business has changed over the years.  Although there are still a great number of business clients, the company has moved into education and rapidly expanded as the need for efficient, reliable and cost-effective IT services in schools and colleges has been recognised.

No other IT company in the area has the breadth of knowledge in the field of education and Focus Networks are recognised as the biggest provider of computer services to schools in Gloucestershire.  Their can-do attitude, willingness to listen and explain what they can do, together with their speedy and personal service provision has helped build their reputation.

Focus Networks are always ready to embrace new technology and methodology as they strive to provide the very best service possible for their customers.  Their policy is to find out what their individual customers need and provide the best technology solution, rather than trying to fit the same package to all clients.

That way the client gets a bespoke system and only pay for the technology that they actually need.

Away from the business Ian has a great interest in sport, especially squash which he has been playing for some 30 years.  He is a qualified coach and some of the youngsters he has worked with have gone on to become professionals.

Andy meanwhile will probably be found with his head in a book or watching an online tutorial as he continues his pursuit of personal improvement.
